The word "corruption" is defined as the "abuse of public power for private benefit" by the World Bank. - Bribery: Dishonestly persuading high officials to act in accordance to their demands by offering gifts, loans, fees, rewards or other fringe benefits. Bribes can help to achieve collusion, the agreement to not report a crime, between individuals.
There can be instances where more than one type of corruption takes place in the same occurrence. For example, bribery may be performed to help achieve fraud or collusion by high officials.
Understanding the Consequences of Corruption
Once corruption manifests itself in society, there are several changes which take place in the community. The rule of law will be enforced strictly only on the underprivileged and poverty-stricken members of the society. Living in some of the most corrupt countries in the world it will become harder and harder to earn a handsome living.
